Hey Everyone!!!

My name is Atharva and I am a high school student who is passionate about programming, content writing and open-source. I am curious about the world of technology and how it can be used to make a difference in the world.

In this blog, I will be sharing my experience of attending a tech conference for the first time - MumbaiFOSS at IIT, Bombay.

Let's Begin !!!

The Event

MumbaiFOSS: FOSS United in collaboration with FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, had organized MumbaiFOSS to revive the spirit of Free and Open source software in Mumbai.

It was a conference which aims to bring software developers, communities, policymakers and enthusiasts together, so we can learn and inspire each other. This event is happening in collaboration with FOSSEE, IIT Bombay.

The conference was an exciting gathering that sought to create a platform where software developers, communities, policymakers, and enthusiasts could come together and share their knowledge and expertise.

The conference was a culmination of months of hard work and planning by the organizers. They had carefully selected a lineup of distinguished keynote speakers who delivered insightful and thought-provoking talks on a range of topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and cybersecurity.

My Experience

It was 8:00 A.M. sharp as I reached the main gate of IIT Bombay, I was accompanied by my dad who dropped me off at the venue. With enthusiasm, I rushed to the auditorium where the conference was to be held.

Soon I was met by 3 fellow participants who would go on to become not only friends but also great connections. One of them had come all the way from Chennai to attend the conference!!!

To begin the proceedings, we had to register ourselves and a well-made breakfast was prepared to welcome the participants to the event. Then the presentations began. The view of the conference :

The conference was a bustling hub of activity, with participants hailing from all corners of the world. The organizers meticulously planned out the event, ensuring that there were ample opportunities for attendees to network, engage in informative discussions, and learn about the latest trends and advancements in the field of software development.

The atmosphere was electric, with passionate individuals sharing their insights and experiences with one another. The conference provided a unique opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and establish meaningful connections that could pave the way for future collaborations.

I got to know about intriguing things I had never heard about before like - "The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill"

One of the unique aspects of the conference was the emphasis on community-building. The organizers had set up several informal networking events, including a hackathon and a social evening, which allowed participants to connect with one another in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. These events helped foster a sense of community among the attendees, creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing long after the conference had ended.

Throughout the conference, there were a variety of talks, workshops, and panel discussions that covered a diverse range of topics related to software development. These sessions were conducted by leading experts in the field, who provided valuable insights and practical advice that attendees could apply in their work.
